Was feeling caution with a small group and walked a bunch. Water was lower than I'd want. There was also some wood in inopportune places. 1ft on the painted gauge 0:24 Fungi Express 1:32 Potential 2:01 The Gangler

how still alive😮
Amateur hour. Luckily there was no death!
Missed the best drop, hike a bit higher
Not a good sport for a frail woman
That was scary as hell
Wow that one guy was amazing. I wouldn’t run a river with those other people especially when they just strolled over.
I haven't read all the comments and I wasn't there...in the moment. However, this this looks like a piss poor rescue by under prepared paddlers.
None of these people belong on the river. Even the guys who preformed the rescue made a bad decision by boating with incompetent people. Pickle ball is more their pace.
Don't put your self's in dangerous situations like this in the first place, it's not a natural environment for human beings to be in. Here endeth the lesson !.
Man, it was scary just watching that. Well done on staying composed in an intense situation.
Wooo, howdy. I've done some small-creek, flood-stage stuff, and this is the first vid I've seen that felt spot-on right, absolute POV. Sound is great! No music. Love the breaks, scouts and all. Heavenly eddies. My opinion? Weather makes the best character.
Also, I'm putting up that wood paddle for an Oscar in the Leading Performer category.
Where is this
NH
how do u stay warm and dry?
What the hell do you think?!?
Like Sasquatch, we know it exists but has never been filmed!
good times
The first time in my life I've ever desired to go to Connecticut, good video, lol
I was in Oneanta when PT did their going-away gig. “Got the Time” was their first encore. Chris (somehow) forgot the second verse and began singing the first line from “Weeds”. I’ve got to say that if I wasn’t recovering from the flu and waiting for my second wind to kick in for the final tune of the night, “R. U. S. H,”, I would have run up to him and started feeding him the line.
that was a close call. what a difference a little bit of a trying can make... breath or not to breath. Respect for staying calm and getting the shit sorted.
Nice trip😊
Yikes
Where is this at

I think I filmed this exact same scene from on top of Pillow Rock haha
Let's all just stand here while we watch her die...#needsnewfriends
With some of these rescues on kayaks pinned against rocks like this, is it an issue of releasing the skirt or not being able to move in a way that allows getting the legs out? It seems like the kayaks wedge and while I understand the hydraulic force on the body it also seems like if the victim wasn't constricted in the kayak, they'd roll off to one side or the other and down into the pool. I just don't understand if its the kayak or the skirt or what but would like to know. Don't have any whitewater really but do get mostly flood related swiftwater incidents and would like to understand it better.
I think it has a lot to do with how physically capable the kayaker is. She probably wasn't well conditioned for the sport. Get your core and upper body resilience up before trying this shit. You should be well above a competent swimmer WHILE IN FULL GEAR. Not just a good swimmer in a swim suit.
Good job on rescue, have across from carnifax, this river averages a death a year
Good rescue, but why the hell would you lead someone so close to danger without more guidance. You about got sucked in there yourself. Not cool and not a good leader.
Bill you’re awesome. Your friend suck. Get new boat crew.
I don’t know a lot about this, but shouldn’t more people have been worried and helping?
Fortunately the 3 of the 4 paddlers sat doing nothing but nearly watch a drowning happen. If you are a rookie, scout! And watch each others backs. Get involved and be pro active. Dont just sit there doing nothing.
Sadly the same woman pinned in this video died in an accident less than two years later. I'm frankly surprised anyone would get back in a kayak after this close call.
Im absolutely mind blown at hoe lazy those other guides are!! How can you just sit there like its not an eddie you can help!? Not even acknowledging thats shes face down..... i would never have them on the group again and if they wanna work they got a lot of training to go over about 20 times
I think all kayaks should be outfitted with breathing apparatus, its a no brainer even if its just minutes of air. the technology exists so lets pioneer it.
Holy shit😮 that was way too fucking close. You saved that woman’s life . That was hard to watch.
"I don't know what's over there". Someone found out. Glad the rescue was successful. Be safe, have fun.
f*ck that crew.
Also is this near Hartford? I saw Farmington in the description and didn’t know that area had much whitewater
This is an awesome video. I really love it. Looks like the forest is almost a part of the creek with all the trees inside of it in the beginning. Nice paddling!
Yeah bro I don’t know you like that but that was too much for you that day. Thank you for sharing some beautiful footage. Gnarly River. Best to you, and thank you for sharing even when it’s beatery. We’ve all been there
It takes balls to post a Great Falls swim video with how intolerant some of the locals are about beatering of any kind on that run. I'm pretty sure it stems from the local paddlers being afraid that the park service could close the falls to boating if there were alot of accidents or swims, and even now they take it super seriously whenever there is a swim of any kind on the falls. I remember the Great Falls community being up in arms after a woman running the fish ladder swam out of a hole and broke her leg, despite the fact that she was a world class paddler who 100% had the skills to be there, but just had a bad day
Holy Smokes. Glad you were able to save them
Every River is a gift, every wave like a kiss.
Let's just sit in the canoe an watch🙄
anyone that just sat in their boats in that type of situation is honestly pathetic
if i were you bro id be yelling at the rest help out and dont stand there like a jabroni
Wow great job hard to believe only 1 man is comitted to his rescue tho
The dirtiest creek of all creeks ! Haha
Without risk, what’s the point?
Test your skills, hit fun moves, etc. Dodging a hole that might trash you or a rock that might bang you up is one thing. Being 100% confident in your ability to not end up in a potentially deadly sieve is another.
sure there's risks then there's stupidity. sometimes its hard to see the difference
I knew a woman who's dead like that in a race in Kighizistan... It was raining a lot, the night before and the river was in flood... unfortunatly someone had cut threes a few days before to close... With the current her kayak was stuck under a three on the way down, and we were never abble to get her out... She was very experimented... Take care at the forces at current!...it's not a children's game ....
Yah freakin’ hoo!
👏👏👏👍💪💪💪❤️🇭🇷
Wow - how fast it can go from fun to a fight for your life. Will share with kids as a much watch. Thank you for sharing!
